Consultation

a person sitting at a desk with an easy read document open on their computer. They're wearing headphones and surrounded by pictures, a house plant, books, etc.

Our Easy Read Consultation Service can work with you to create quality Easy Read information. By engaging with our Consultation Service you can have confidence that your information meets Easy Read standards.

How it works

1: Create your information

You create your own Easy Read information

2: Get in touch

Send your Easy Read information to us.

3: Costing provided

We will briefly review your Easy Read information and provide you with costings for a consultation

4: First review

Once costing has been accepted, one of our Senior Translators will review your Easy Read information. The Senior Translator will provide you with feedback and suggestions to ensure it meets Easy Read standards; we may also be able to assist with images.

5: Making changes

You will work through the feedback and suggestions, working to get the information to meet Easy Read standards.

6: Second Review

Send your updated Easy Read information back to us for a second round review. This step may be repeated.

7: Easy Read approved

Once the translation meets our Easy Read standards, we will give you permission for the use of our Easy Read logo on the cover of your Easy Read and include a statement at the end of the translation about engaging with our Consultation Service.

We also may be able to help with promoting and distributing your translation

Our consultation service might be a good fit for you if:

  • your staff have a passion for accessibility and want to develop new skills
  • you are a community organisation that wants to keep costs down
  • you are creating a number of similar documents, such as meeting announcements or updates
  • your documents are relatively straightforward.

If you are interested in being involved in the process, you may also want to take a look at our training.
